Engineering Giant FMC Technologies Win $520 Million Contract

Engineering giant FMC Technologies won a $520 million contract from Total to build subsea production equipment for the Clov project off Angola.

FMCs scope of supply includes 36 subsea trees, wellheads and controls.

The company will also supply eight manifolds, two workover systems and associated tooling and equipment, FMC said in a release.

Much of the work will be done at FMC’s facility in Angola.

Deliveries are scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2012.

Clov includes the Cravo, Lirio, Orquidea and Violeta discoveries on Block 17 in about 4500 feet (1,370 metres) of water in Block 17 offshore Angola.

Angolan state-run Sonangol is the Block 17 concessionaire.

"FMC has a strong history and experience in supporting Block 17 projects, including the Pazflor, Rosa and Girassol fields," FMC exec Tore Halvorsen said in a release.
